Our weekend of events kicks off at the Community House and Theater.
6pm: Artist Tea Party
Location: Community House
TCW kicks off the weekend at The Cherry Grove Community House, the longest running LGBTQ theater in the U.S, sampling a collection of fine teas from around the world. Sawyer DeVuyst will be exhibiting their work and Francesca Galliani will be discussing their photography of the transgender community since the 90s.
6pm: Shabbat on the Beach
Location: On the Beach at East Walk
A gathering to mark the beginning of 5784 and welcome Shabbat in community.
Challah will be provided.
Gatherings are welcome to Jewish and non-Jewish people .
Location: Community House
Special guest cast members and directors join us to watch a series of short films from the transgender/non-binary community and discuss the unique experiences of creating queer content.
11pm: Underwear Party
Location: Ice Palace
The famously fun Underwear Party will be pumping all night.
SATURDAY Sept 16
All day there will be various activities all around the Grove.Location: Community House
Join us for a fun and exciting dance workout party! DJ (from OutBox Brooklyn) combines traditional fitness exercises to get you moving to the beat and get in a good burn…NO prior dance experience is required

Welcome the sun and shed last year’s troubles with the ocean as company. Gatherings are welcome to Jewish and non-Jewish people .
10am: Baggage Check Open
Location: Community House
We invite those who are visiting for the day to take advantage of our complimentary Baggage Check provided by CGCAI, so everyone can feel free to cater their Trans Celebration Weekend to include all Cherry Grove has to offer.
HOURS: 10am-7pm, 10-11:30pm.
11am-12pm: Trans Oral History Presentation
Location: Community House
Aviva Silverman and El Roy Red from the Trans Oral History Project will be discussing their important work of documenting trans histories.
12-2pm: Writers Circle
Location: Community House
Our panel of authors - Denne Michele Norris, Harron Walker, Barb Morrison and Laura A. Jacobs - join us to discuss their various works in television, literature, and zines, as well as time to workshop with attendees.

The Cherry Grove Fire Department is proud to be one of the most diverse and gender-affirming fire houses in the country. They’re inviting TCW visitors to check out their specialized engines, try on some gear and find out how you could become part of the crew.

Discussion led by Dan Lieberman and Shane Diamond will explore transgender inclusion in sports, why it matters and what you can do to help, followed by a game of volleyball.

Get your wake-up coffee at the “Queer Cafe” and enjoy the second annual Cherry Grove DIY Zine Fair, brought to you by STEPH CHRIST PRESS. Artists and writers will have magazines, posters, poetry broadsides, and small artworks of various types to sell, trade or giveaway. We’ve teamed up with Fire Island Artist Residency (FIAR) to present a collection of work from photo-based artists - Keioui Keijaun Thomas, Francesca Galliani, Darryl DeAngelo Terrell, Susan Kravitz, Allison Michael Orenstein, Amina Ross Chris E. Vargas and Leah James.
All weekend long TCW attendees can take a tour of the Grove and check out installations hung throughout town.
