We're very excited to share the works of so many queer artists in our first annual New York Trans Film Festival. Each project is created by LGBTQIA+ folks, featuring stories that are about, starring and created by the transgender and non-binary community, expressing the multitude of emotions and experiences of living in a cis world, while embracing your own unique identity.

"Shipping Them" written and directed by Ryan Rox(they/them), who portrays the main character Lux, a non-binary daydreamer, pining for the life of the girl next door, but soon finds out the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

"Transmission" is written and directed by Emma Underwood (she/her) and starring Lisa Stephen Friday (she/her), a transgender glam rocker who must overcome her struggle of self-acceptance to share her story of self-actualization in order to preserve a part of trans history.

"Ordinary" is written and directed by Atlas O. Phoenix. In a personal, experimental essay, starring Phoenix, "Ordinary" asks the question, "Have your eyes really seen (me?)."

"Ro and Shirelle" is written by D'Lo and directed by Adelina Anthony. Two transgender friends in their early 30s, are looking forward to getting away together, even if it is for the high school reunion where old flames and enemies are expected - but as long as they're together, these two can face the "unfaceable." On their way from NorCal to SoCal, they search for safe places to rest, fill up gas, and relieve themselves, but sometimes going to the bathroom in peace is the hardest feat to accomplish.

"BREAK/UP" is directed by Ashlei Hardenburg-Cartagena and produced by AJ Mattioli. This queer musical short film follows three confidently flawed people who should definitely not be dating. Alex, torn between a toxic relationship and a fling, must come to terms with her own truth when she realizes a break-up might be exactly what everyone needs. It’s a bop-along musical story where it’s totally fine to burn bridges, especially when it comes to putting yourself first.

In puruit of YouTube fame, Marque (an aging gay queen) enlists the help of his dumb-as-a-bucket houseboy Hector in his mission to conquer the interwebs. Hector serves as his Vanna White, his magician's assistant, his punching bag. The only problem? Marque bungles everything he touches -- incluing his hopes and dreams.
