QUEER GROVE is a volunteer initiative directed by founder Parker Sargent to create events and access to the LGBTQIA+ safe haven of Cherry Grove, Fire Island. 
Through presenting a range of productions, we seek to explore and celebrate the history of this beach hamlet...and facilitate efforts to keep Cherry Grove queer.

Over the past decade we have created opportunities to expand the identity of the Grove, while finding inspiration in the joyful traditions of this LGBTQ safe space.

What does it mean to love the Grove?

We seek to answer that question for all kinds of queers that come to the community. To create an environment that is not only inclusive, but specifically targets their needs, as we provide resources to the masses at the same time.

Cherry Grove can be an extremely social situation, but at the same time it can provide solace and healing for others, that is not about the boys or bars.

QUEER GROVE produces events that speak to many perspectives...with large scale events like Trans Celebration Weekend or something quiet and personal like our Outdoor Art Walking Tours.

We work with Cherry Grove organizations to create parties, plays, literary groups, panel discussions, exhibitions and more…to make our events unique in their approach and the atmosphere that is created.
