8PM: NEW YORK TRANSGENDER FILM FESTIVAL
Location: Cherry Grove Theater

The New York Transgender Film Festival celebrates films that are for, created by, and are about our Trans+ community...Transgender, Non-Binary, Gender Non-Conforming, Intersex and Two-Spirit.

We're excited to present an event that showcases stories of our trans community and the talented queer creators that bring these vital projects to life, in a uniquely historical queer environment.

OFFICIAL LINE-UP ANNOUNCES AUG 15th, 2024.
Very often with a general LGBTQIA+ festival- trans stories are an "addition", but the New York Transgender Film Festival is all about US!

Trans filmmakers are fighting for limited screening spots- even in queer film festivals- and paying heavy entry fees. But anyone who is creating trans+ projects knows how unattainable the established film festival circuit can be for our community. Keeping our stories from being seen, appreciated and rewarded.

NYTFF was created because we can no longer wait for OUR stories to be heard!

And we're proud to note that our Selection Panel is made up entirely of trans+ artists, activists and filmmakers.

NYTFF is organized by trans-filmmaker Parker Sargent (she/her) and presented as part of the Trans Celebration Weekend, produced by PARSAR Productions with assistance from Christina Calisi (she/her).

This amazing event will be held at the Cherry Grove Theater in Fire Island, which has national recognition as the longest running LGBTQ+ theater in the United States. Thank you to the Cherry Grove Community Association for use of this historic space. We would also like to thank the "Unity Wine & Cocktail Bar" for providing drink service for the evening's events.

Special thanks to our sponsor The Cherry Grove Archives Collection for the use of their equipment and the generous donation of popcorn 🙂
