Imagine a small beach town that is completely queer, separated from the mainland by a twenty-minute ferry ride, where you can enjoy the amazing beach by day and play in the bars and clubs by night.
This is Cherry Grove, Fire Island.
The Grove has been a safehaven for LGBTQIA+ people since the early 1900’s and it is the perfect place to host this amazing weekend of activities, resources, discussions and celebrations.
Throughout the weekend there will be events at The Ice Palace, The Belvedere, Cherry’s on the Bay, Floyd’s and the Cherry Grove Community House, which is the longest running LGBTQIA+ theater in the United States.
Cherry Grove invites all those who identify as transgender and non-binary and our allies to the community to come out for the second annual TRANS CELEBRATION WEEKEND...Sept 13-15, 2024!!!
Our first Trans Celebration Weekend was an incredible event. The turnout was more than we could have expected. It was a wonderful weekend full of parties, performances, art and resources, which all created a lot of trans joy and strengthened community bonds.

We are selecting artists for the Art Walk 2024. All weekend visitors can tour the beautiful boardwalks of Cherry Grove and view work that features the transgender and non-binary community.
